Modern Fireplace Restoration with Stone Tile and Gas Insert

From Exposed Brick to a Modern Fireplace Focal Point

This fireplace restoration project began with a full tear-down to the original brick structure, revealing the aged masonry behind decades of interior remodeling. With the goal of creating a clean, modern centerpiece for the living space, the team stripped away old finishes and reframed the entire fireplace wall to accommodate a new gas insert. Throughout the project, care was taken to preserve the integrity of the existing brick while providing the structural support needed for updated venting, electronics, and a finished stone facade.

Electrical and gas line adjustments were completed to support both the new fireplace insert and modern tech integration—including mounted media, surround sound components, and recessed lighting. Strategic framing was put in place to support the mantle, television, and vent channeling without compromising the overall visual balance. Once the framing was secured, venting was rerouted, and the gas insert was installed, the project moved to finish work—where the transformation truly took shape.
