A properly fitted cap is essential to keeping metal chimney systems protected and functioning efficiently. The CA 1/2 Replacement Cap for single wall and solid-pack chimneys delivers superior protection against rain, debris, and wildlife intrusion while maintaining unrestricted airflow. At Chicagoland Fireplace & Chimney Restoration, we provide custom-fit replacements that restore both safety and performance to metal chimneys of any size or configuration.
The cap’s open-top design ensures consistent draft flow while preventing backdrafts and trapped moisture. Its overlapping base and deep skirt create a watertight seal that keeps rain and snow out, preserving the chimney’s internal insulation and extending system life. This structure allows exhaust gases to exit freely while maintaining efficient airflow for both wood-burning and gas appliance systems.
Each replacement cap is fabricated from 304 stainless steel, known for its corrosion resistance and strength under high heat. Precision welds and reinforced seams prevent separation during expansion and contraction, even through the extreme temperature changes common in the Chicago area. The cap’s smooth, polished finish resists discoloration and is easy to maintain, offering both function and a clean, professional appearance.
Different venting systems require unique mounting solutions. The CA 1/2 replacement model is engineered to fit securely onto both single wall and solid-pack metal chimneys, locking firmly into place without compromising ventilation. Our technicians measure, fit, and secure each installation to manufacturer specifications, ensuring a perfect match that restores your chimney’s full protective integrity.
Each installation begins with a detailed inspection to verify system type, diameter, and vent configuration. Once installed, the cap is tested for draft consistency, water resistance, and structural stability. Our process guarantees the replacement performs exactly as designed—providing a long-lasting solution that requires minimal maintenance and delivers consistent performance year-round.
