Unprotected chimneys can quickly become nesting spots for birds, squirrels, and other small animals, creating blockages and fire hazards. The 3/4 Stainless Steel Animal Guard offers a durable and effective solution that safeguards your venting system without restricting airflow. Custom-fit and installed by Chicagoland Fireplace & Chimney Restoration, these guards provide permanent protection while maintaining a clean, professional appearance that complements your chimney’s structure.
The 3/4-inch mesh grid is engineered to stop animals from entering while still allowing smoke, exhaust, and moisture to vent freely. Each guard is fabricated from 304 stainless steel, ensuring corrosion resistance and structural integrity under high temperatures. The reinforced frame and welded joints deliver long-term durability, preventing deformation and detachment even during harsh weather or strong winds.
Unlike standard screens or temporary coverings, these guards are designed to preserve the chimney’s natural draft balance. The fine mesh allows full airflow for both heating and venting systems while preventing clogs caused by nesting materials, leaves, or debris. The design keeps your fireplace burning cleanly and efficiently, helping reduce smoke backup and maintenance costs.
Each guard is built from heavy-duty 304 stainless steel to endure year-round exposure to moisture, soot, and temperature extremes. The polished finish resists oxidation and discoloration while maintaining its strength through freeze-thaw cycles. Whether installed on masonry or prefabricated metal chimneys, this design ensures long-term performance with minimal maintenance.
Our technicians fabricate and fit every guard to match the specific diameter and configuration of your chimney cap or flue. Once secured, the guard is tested to verify stability, clearance, and airflow consistency. The result is a permanent installation that protects against wildlife intrusion while blending seamlessly into your existing chimney structure.
