A properly sealed metal cover is essential to protect prefabricated chimney systems from the destructive effects of rain, snow, and corrosion. Standard sheet metal caps often rust or deform, allowing water to seep into the chase structure and cause significant internal damage. At Chicagoland Fireplace & Chimney Restoration, we fabricate and install custom-built covers designed for structural strength, watertight performance, and architectural refinement. Each unit is measured to exact dimensions, fitted with reinforced seams, and built to perform in every season.
Each cover is engineered for performance and longevity. Heavy-gauge copper and stainless steel materials are cut, folded, and reinforced to prevent bending, warping, or rusting. The raised center design and sloped drip edges ensure proper drainage, eliminating water pooling that leads to leaks and decay. Every seam is professionally sealed, providing a clean, smooth finish that enhances both appearance and strength.
Our covers are available in multiple premium materials, including copper, stainless steel, and powder-coated steel. Copper develops a rich patina that adds timeless elegance, while stainless steel delivers modern appeal with zero corrosion risk. Regardless of the material, each piece is custom-fitted to your chase for a precise and secure installation that endures Chicago’s harsh weather conditions.
A compromised chase top can lead to rot, rust, and insulation breakdown inside the chimney housing. Our custom-fitted covers eliminate these risks by sealing out moisture, debris, and pests. Designed with raised flue collars and integrated drip edges, each unit provides maximum coverage to stop leaks and extend your system’s lifespan—protecting your investment and your home’s structure.
Our team conducts detailed on-site measurements before fabrication to ensure a perfect fit. During installation, we secure every cover with precision fasteners and verify all seals for watertight performance. Each project concludes with a full inspection, confirming that your system is protected, ventilated, and ready for long-term use.
